Sandown's Shelly Chalet holiday rentalsYour coastal break starts here
Hello, I’m Michelle, and Shelly Chalet 80 is my little chalet on the clifftops at Sandown Bay. It’s a comfortable, cosy place with everything you need, and a proper sea view to enjoy with your morning cuppa. If you’re after a quiet week where you can put your feet up, walk the dog, and not worry about a thing, I think you’ll feel right at home here.
A peaceful spot — No crowds, no fuss. Just clifftop paths, sea air, and the sound of the waves.
A proper home-from-home — Cosy and comfortable, with everything you need already there when you arrive.
Dogs are part of the family here too — I’ve got leads, treats, bowls and toys ready and waiting, so nobody’s holiday is an afterthought.

The bedrooms
The main bedroom has a comfortable double bed, a bedside light and cabinet, and a double wardrobe — plenty of room to unpack properly. The second bedroom has bunk beds, some storage, and a stash of kids’ games — everything a family needs for a proper little holiday.
The living room
A cosy, open-plan living space with two comfy reclining sofas, a TV, and a dining table for meals together. The barn-style front door lets you open the top half for fresh sea air, without worrying about a dog (or a toddler) wandering off. There's a cabinet of kids' games too, for the odd rainy afternoon.
The kitchen
A proper little kitchen, fully equipped for self-catering — cooker, extractor fan, and an air fryer for the evenings you fancy staying in rather than eating out. Plates, cups, glasses and all the everyday bits are already there, so you don’t need to pack half your own kitchen just to come and stay.
The shower room
A comfortable shower room with a shower, mirror and cabinet, sink and toilet — everything you need after a day on the beach or up on Culver Down.
The outside
Step out of the barn door, and there’s a little bistro table and chairs, looking straight out towards Culver Down — a lovely spot for a morning coffee before the day gets going. There’s a lawn right outside too, plenty of room for the kids (and the dog) to run about safely.
YOUR HOME FROM HOME HOLIDAY IS WAITING
The walk I recommend to everyoneCulver Down & The Culver Haven Inn
The clifftop path up to Culver Down starts right outside my chalet, and it’s the one walk almost every guest tells me about when they come back. It’s a steady climb up past the Yarborough Monument, and the view just keeps opening up as you go — Sandown Bay, Bembridge Harbour and the Solent, all laid out below you.
Once you’re up there, the Culver Haven Inn is waiting — a proper family-run pub, dog-friendly, with a fire going in winter, a terrace for summer, good home-cooked food, and free dog biscuits behind the bar. There’s free parking up there too, if you’d rather drive up and walk back down.
